EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Impact Report 2024

A Year of Hope, Resilience, and Transformation!

In 2024, the Global Impact Initiative (GII) did more than run programs—we changed lives.

Every number in this report represents a person who found hope, stability, and the opportunity to build a better future. Whether it was a legally vetted and documented refugee mother launching her first business, a young student gaining the confidence to pursue higher education, or a skilled worker finally securing meaningful employment, GII stood at the intersection of possibility and action.

This was a year of extraordinary growth, despite the challenges we faced. Our commitment to entrepreneurship, education, and workforce development empowered hundreds to achieve financial independence and create a ripple effect of change in their families and communities. We connected skilled professionals with jobs, mentored the next generation, and equipped women with the tools to break cycles of financial insecurity.

But beyond the data and measurable outcomes, 2024 was about people—about the stories of resilience and strength that define our mission. From refugee bazaars generating life-changing income to ESL graduates landing their first jobs, GII’s impact wasn’t just in numbers—it was in the dignity, hope, and self-reliance we helped cultivate.

This report is a testament to the power of collective action, the dedication of our volunteers and staff, and the unwavering generosity of our supporters

OUR CORE OBJECTIVES

Creating Sustainable Change

1

Empowering Youth Through Education

Education is the foundation of opportunity. Through our Academic Tutoring and Mentoring Program, beyond just helping students improve their grades—we built their confidence and aspirations. In 2024, 183 young adults received mentorship, ensuring they had the tools, guidance, and belief in themselves to pursue a brighter future.

Supporting Refugees in Their Journey to Self-Sufficiency

For refugees fleeing hardship, stability begins with opportunity. Our refugee employment programs, supported by the Texas Office of Refugees (TXOR), connected over 200 legally vetted refugees with jobs that provided dignity and security. These individuals are not just surviving—they are thriving, contributing to their communities, and building new lives with hope.

Breaking Barriers for Women Entrepreneurs

Economic independence transforms lives. This year, 119 women participated in our entrepreneurship program, gaining critical business and leadership skills. From home bakeries to translation services and cleaning businesses, their ventures became a source of pride and financial security. At our four refugee bazaars, in partnership with the YMCA, refugee entrepreneurs generated over $100,000 in sales, with every dollar going directly to the vendors. These events not only provide immediate job opportunities - with over 4 dozen positions offered on the spot - but all services are provided entirely free of charge to clients, thanks to GII’s commitment to supporting the community.

Language as a Pathway to Opportunity

Without language, integration is an uphill battle. Our Online ESL Program helped over 200 individuals gain proficiency, unlocking better job opportunities and greater confidence in navigating their new environments.

The Power of Volunteerism

Our work is only possible because of the tireless efforts of over 100 dedicated volunteers, who collectively contributed over 25,000 hours to mentoring, teaching, and building stronger communities. Their passion magnifies our impact and sustains our programs.

THE NUMBERS BEHIND THE IMPACT

Lives Transformed in 2024

Overcoming Challenges
& Lessons Learned

Despite our successes, 2024 also encountered obstacles. We navigated funding uncertainties, restructured operations, and made difficult decisions to ensure long-term sustainability.

  1. Strategic Resource Allocation
To maximize impact, we paused our CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) program and focused on mentorship and entrepreneurship training—both driven by volunteers while we secure dedicated funding. This decision allowed us to strengthen core initiatives without overextending resources.

  2. Financial Constraints & Sustainability
The structure of the Texas Office of Refugees (TXOR) and Catholic Charities of Fort Worth (CCFW) grants limited financial flexibility. To address this we:

    • Engaged financial and strategic planning experts to optimize sustainability.

    • Transitioned a TXOR-funded staff member into a leadership role, improving efficiency.

    • Brought in fundraising professionals and launched an initiative to secure a $150,000 line of credit for stability.
