Innovative Programming for Refugees

Fundacja Przedsiębiorczości Kobiet (Women's Entreprenuership Foundation)

Targeted for those currently in Poland but hoping to immigrate to the US.

This program is offered in partnership between the Global Impact Initiative and Fundacja Przedsiębiorczości Kobiet (Women's Entrepreneurship Foundation) in Poland.

The program is targeted towards Ukrainian refugees, especially women, in Poland who are planning to relocate to the US. Although the focus is on the needs of Ukrainian refugees, the program is open to any at-risk population.

Thus far, we have hosted an online focus group about frequently-asked questions and issues refugees encounter, and then a 2-hour virtual Q&A-style panel for them to be able to hear from a variety of sector experts on healthcare, education, employment, finances, and more. In the future, our goal is to host a Q&A every quarter.

We will develop more dedicated virtual programming between our two organizations. The program will serve to provide a resource, network, and community for refugees to be able to adequately prepare for relocation - both including tangible resources and social expectations.

This includes:

  • Q&As with experts on a variety of critical questions and topics related to relocation and resettlement in America.

  • Leadership workshops

  • Empowerment training

  • Financial literacy education

  • Online ESL classes

  • Upskilling and reskilling programs

  • Integration and mentorship opportunities
